The GTD method in NextAction

Five steps, one system

Getting Things Done (GTD) works by moving everything on your mind through five steps. NextAction is laid out the same way, and its navigation groups follow them.

• Capture. Get every thought out of your head with Quick capture. Items land in your Inbox.
• Clarify. Decide what each item means in Inbox and Process. See Clarifying an item.
• Organize. Keep items on the right list, in a Project, and under an Area of Focus and a Context.
• Reflect. Keep the system current with the Weekly Review.
• Engage. Choose what to do with Today and Do Now.

Why it works

A system only helps if you trust it. You trust it when everything is captured, every item has a clear home, and you look at it regularly. The rest of this Documentation shows how to do each of those things.
